About Us A Little Main Street Real Estate History: Main Street Real Estate has been in existence since 1981 when the broker John Felling started the agency in Sauk Centre. The original name for the company was ERA Farm and Home Realty with the main office stationed in Willmar and a branch located in Sauk Centre. In the late 1980's the ERA franchise was dropped and the present company name was formed. The location for the original company was at 633 south Main Street. That location remained the home for Main Street Real Estate until the company moved to its present location, at 508 Main Street, in the summer of 1998. Main Street Real Estate today: The company consists of John Felling, the broker/owner, and associates James Rutten, Fern Meyer, and Peter Nelson. The company is proud to be a part of the community and has been active in such organizations as the local Sauk Centre Chamber, Sauk Centre EDA and Sauk Centre Opportunities. Main Street Real Estate specializes in general real estate with service in single family, commercial, farms, recreational properties, lakeshore properties, and new construction. Main Street Real Estate Team Members: John Felling: Graduating from Moorhead State University in 1972, John was a educator until he began to change his career in 1978. In 1981 John began his own real estate firm. Since that time John has established Main Street Farm and Home Realty and Felling appraisals. He has successfully developed and managed numerous community subdivisions such as Eastview Heights, Oak Ridge Addition, Morning View Drive and Daybreak Place. As an owner of several income properties, John is well versed in real estate investments. John is an active member of the community and has served on local boards and committees to include positions with the Sauk Centre City Council, Economic Development Authority and Sauk Centre Opportunities. John has utilized his skills as an educator in bringing many of the area professionals into the business. Many of the Real Estate Professionals in central Minnesota began their careers through Main Street Realty. Fernalyce Meyer: Fern has lived in mid Minnesota nearly all of her life. Moving to Sauk Centre in 1963, Fern and her husband Al owned and operated an electrical contracting business until 1998. Fern began her real estate career in 1992 after completing her career as homemaker and mother of 10 children. Fern entered her real estate calling with enthusiasm and a willingness to help people find the right house to make a home. She is deservedly proud of her reputation for finding answers for people who are first time home buyers or in need of creative solutions. As a veteran salesperson and broker, Fern continues to bring that same enthusiasm and sincerity to the Main Street Realty team everyday. James Rutten: Jim has been an associate of Main Street Real Estate since 1995. As an experienced businessman in Illinois and Michigan, Jim brings a varied background to the Main Street team. Jim has been a licensed real estate salesperson and broker in the state of Illinois. He is also an experienced salesperson in the greater Minneapolis area. Jim is a licensed real property appraiser since 1995 and is certified and experienced in residential, commercial and farm appraisals. Peter Nelson: Peter joined the team at Main Street Real Estate in September of 2003. He grew up and graduated in Sauk Centre. Peter has a wife, Jennifer, and 4 children. For over 16 years, Peter has been a mobile Disc Jockey for weddings, schools and private parties and still is central Minnesota's "DJ PETE". Peter has brought his happy and fun personality into the office.
